What would John Wayne think of all that's going on in America today?

The Making of a Terrorist...often Born in the U.S.A.

This one was born in Kuwait and was educated and spent many years living in the U.S.A. Believe it or not, he spent his first semester at a Baptist college in North Carolina before transferring to North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University majoring in mechanical engineering. He spent some time in an American jail and then moved on to eventually confess to the beheading of Daniel Pearl and to being one of the 9/11 masterminds...

This one was born in the U.S.A., went to Virginia Technical University, joined the Army who paid for his medical schooling, internship and residency eventually promoting him to major, while, at the same time, he was becoming radicalized at a Falls Church, Virginia, mosque by our next terrorist, who prepared him to become the famous Fort Hood shooter.

This terrorist, "the bin Laden of the Internet", was born in New Mexico, and went on to get his B.S. in Civil Engineering at Colorado State University, an M.A. in Educational Leadership (following in his father's footsteps, I suppose...NOT!), and worked on a doctorate degree at George Washington University. He then decided upon being an imam. He is the mentor to the Fort Hood Shooter and the Underwear Bomber and God only knows how many other terrorists-in-training in Yemen...a country which comes up quite a bit lately!

This one started out as Carlos Bledsoe and eventually became Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad and, it seems, he was also arrested and jailed in Yemen at one time for using a Somali passport...funny thing...that connection with Yemen (after reading in the first article that "Bledsoe was not part of a larger group nor was his attack part of a larger conspiracy" - that spiel is starting to sound familiar). Then we go and close our embassy in Yemen instead of keeping a presence there so that we have eyes and ears in that country. Why would our president order such a closing? Bledsoe attended a radical mosque in Memphis, TN, and seems to also have had a financially well-to-do self-employed parent who owned a Touring Company. It doesn't appear he was formally educated at university.

You know this terrorist as David Headley, but he changed his name to deceive you...it's actually Daood Sayed Gilani and he's responsible for the terrorist attack in Mumbei., India, and he is also from a very wealthy family - his mother is actually a socialite.

This terrorist, Mohammed Atta, was one of the ringleaders of the 19 9/11 hijackers. Born in Egypt, educated at the Technical University of Hamburg, he became radicalized in a mosque in Hamburg. These mosques must have imams and leaders like Jeremiah Wright at the helm because it doesn't sound like they're learning about peace, joy and a love for God there. They seem more like terrorist training camps!

And, lastly, we have the Underpants Bomber whose father has the wealth, position and power of someone like the CEO of Bank of America. Mr. Underpants studied at all the best private schools and, it would seem, his father made the mistake of sending him to Yemen to study Arabic. He couldn't study Arabic somewhere less radical or have afforded a private tutor?

So...in a country where we have less than a population of 1% that practice the Muslim religion (or approximately 300,000) does it make more sense to profile male Muslim men who are 18-30 years of age whose ideology may lead to the downing of one of our airliners or to inconvenience some 600,000,000 people who fly into and out of the U.S.A. each year? I would volunteer to be scanned if I fell in to the small percentage which could bring danger upon our flight as I wasn't raised to believe that because I was born and raised in this country that my rights supersede those of everyone around me. What do you think? And, do you think we should be investigating a little more deeply these so called 'mosques' in America, especially the ones known for their radical leanings and tendencies? And, I am not a TSA expert, but I would take the time to go through the list of those that have the millionaire visa and I'd make sure I checked into the backgrounds of all of them immediately and thoroughly!

...and this time we'd better listen to him as we cannot afford another problem with two wars, a possible third one looming, the possibility of Iran going nuclear and Yemen on the back burner...

The First Sunday and the First Holy Communion of the Year!

This first Sunday, I'll let the Book I love most express it's view about not having any more of our government taking over our lives...

1. We are supposed to work for our daily bread and not expect it as a God given right.
(2 Thessalonians 3:6)

Warning Against Idleness: Keep away from every brother who is idle and does not live according to the teaching you received from us. For you yourselves know how you ought to follow our example. We were not idle when we were with you, nor did we eat any one's food without paying for it. On the contrary, we worked night and day, laboring and toiling so that we would not be a burden to any of you. We did this, not because we do not have the right to such help, but in order to make ourselves a model for you to follow. For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: "If a man will not work, he shall not eat."

If we shun the Seven Deadly (plus) Sins, we could prevent a lot of diseases rampant in today's society from strangling us with health care costs. An ounce of prevention vs. a pound of harm (Galatians 5:7):

For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law.

The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying of each other.
